This is a very effective housefly trap that requires no electricity, is environmentally friendly and can also act as a household decor. I will send you an easy to use picture manual upon purchase. Research data regarding efficiency available upon request.
As shown in the picture, the trap chamber is made up of two chambers and they can be separated easily for cleaning and trap installation purposes.
We use fiber glass as materials so it is very hardy and durable, it can easily last for two years.
Mechanism is briefly explained below.
1.) The housefly trap is placed at a suitable location. It can be placed at a 50 metres radius around the control area.
2.) Bait Installation:
• First Bait- Sugar solution laced with housefly
poison is placed under the trap.
• Second Bait- Smelly substance (such as
leftover chickens, prawns) laced with housefly poison is placed on a bait plate holder.
Note:
a. Housefly likes sweet substance.
b. Housefly poison is not lethal to humans or household animals so it doesn’t matter if a
fly dies and is eaten by your dog.
3.) Housefly will stop at the first bait for sugar, then they will be attracted to the smelly second bait.
4.) After stopping over at the second bait, the housefly will fly towards the light through a small opening of the trap. They will then be trapped in the upper chamber.
Note:
c. Usually flies will not fly downwards in the presence of a small opening; therefore the number of escaped flies is negligible. (Guidelines For Fly Control In Malaysia, 1986).
5.) The trapped houseflies will die due to poison, hunger, thrist, dehydration and fatigue. The dead flies can be collected and made into fertilizers.
Other notes
-This product has undergone design, field testing and performance analysis since 10 February 2010. They are tested for flies capture efficiency and structural stability (in different tropical weather and against domestic animal disturbance)
-Different prototypes were created during test and the fifth prototype ended up with the best field test result (Data analyzed with Pearson correlation test)
-The tests were done at dormitories dining areas and flies were collected twice daily (8000 flies caught in a week).
-Flies are attracted to bright yellow colors, hence the bright colored design.
-We have consumer safety and comfort in mind during design; the bright colored trap looks good when placed around the premise and has minimal risk of falling over.
-Besides that, this trap is produced to minimized environmental pollution and energy consumption. Our users will be better stewards to their surroundings and will be able to save on electricity, as this trap doesn’t run on electricity.
